Vasily Kandinsky: From Blaue Reiter to the Bauhaus in Neue Galerie

Through Feb. 10

The Neue’s first show on Kandinsky centers on a rich 15-year period, also the purview of the Museum of Modern Art’s recent “Inventing Abstraction, 1910-1925.”  During this time, Kandinsky shifted from the prismatic Expressionism of Der Blaue Reiter into pure abstraction and from easel paintings into set designs and murals.
Museum Hours :
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Tuesday and Wednesday)

The Klimt Gallery and the Drawings will close at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 28.
The museum is located at the Southeast corner of Fifth Avenue
 and East 86th Street.


Admission  $20)
 November 1,December 6, and January 3 (the first Friday of every month)  the museum is open to the public free from 6 to 8 p.m.
